BBA Members Get a First Look at Sandown’s Next Big Chapter: Breakwaters
Sandown’s future came into sharp focus last night as Bay Business Association (BBA) members gathered for an exclusive networking event at the much-anticipated Breakwaters development on Culver Parade.
The event was a chance to celebrate progress, connect with fellow local business owners, and get an insider’s glimpse into a transformative project that’s already reshaping the town’s skyline—and its economic potential.
A Space Designed for Community
Breakwaters is rapidly becoming one of the Bay’s most talked-about developments, and last night’s event showed why. Attendees were invited to explore the newly completed ground floor commercial spaces where developer Nick Clemens shared his vision for what’s to come.
Plans include a vibrant café, and dynamic co-working spaces. The aim? To create a place where locals, freelancers, and entrepreneurs can come together, collaborate, and grow—a true hub for Sandown’s business and creative community.
Stylish Living, Seamless Design
The tour continued upstairs with a visit to the beautifully styled two-bedroom show flat, expertly dressed by Saltbox Staging. The design sparked plenty of inspiration, showcasing a lifestyle that blends seaside charm with contemporary comfort.
Guests were then shown three additional flats within the development, each offering a unique layout and those breathtaking Bay views. The evening concluded with relaxed drinks on a stunning balcony, where attendees soaked in the sunset and shared thoughts on the exciting opportunities Breakwaters brings to Sandown.
Matt Jeffery, CEO of Brightbulb Design, summed it up perfectly:
‘Really had a great time at The Bay Business Association networking event at Breakwaters... What a fantastic development with incredible views and a real vision of becoming a bustling community hub in Sandown.’
Rewilding and Regeneration: More Than Just Property
Adding to the evening’s forward-looking theme, Sandown Town Councillor Paddy Lightfoot delivered an update on the International School for Rewilding—another game-changing project set to make waves across the Bay. This pioneering initiative will put Sandown on the map for eco-tourism, education and sustainability, reinforcing the town’s commitment to innovation and environmental leadership.
The Future is Local
Last night’s event at Breakwaters was a reminder of the power of local collaboration. The BBA continues to champion projects that create jobs, inspire entrepreneurship and foster pride in our coastal community.
As we look ahead, Breakwaters stands as a beacon of possibility. It’s more than bricks and mortar—it’s a place where Sandown’s future is being built, and the BBA is proud to be part of the journey.
Thank you to everyone who attended.
